The latest addition to New Brighton’s dining scene, The Good Hood, is going down a storm amongst locals! The New York graffiti style venue offers mouth-watering American comfort food and cool cocktails — already proving to be a big hit in the seaside town.
The Good Hood has opened on Victoria Road where the old Habibi restaurant once was — adding to the area’s already colourful and vibrant offering. With a retro street-art inspired interior and the large suntrap that is the outside terrace, it’s a perfect fit for New Brighton’s thriving food and drink scene.
The Good Hood brings you fried chicken, gooey burgers, hot dogs, pizzas, shiny vodka disco balls, cool cocktails and more — as well as a dedicated vegan menu. As featured by The Daily Mirror, The Liverpool Echo, The Wirral Globe, The Chester Standard and others, The Good Hood made waves in West Kirby and is now the talk of New Brighton.
Owner Richard Fergie said: “The reception for our second venue here in New Brighton has been incredible — we’re really grateful to all the people who have supported us since opening here. We’re still finding our feet and perfecting things with our new team but so far so good — it feels great to be here!”
He continued: “After the success of the West Kirby venue, it made sense to open our second in New Brighton — our brand is a perfect fit for the street art scene and vibe here. There’s a great sense of community in this town and it’s a pleasure to be part of what’s happening here through Dan and Rockpoint Leisure.”
Richard hails from Scotland and made a name for himself as Founder and Director of the multi-award winning Monterey Jack’s chain — opening 12 venues throughout Scotland. After moving to Wirral he created The Good Hood — quickly establishing a reputation for offering ‘the best burgers in Wirral’.
Despite only just opening in New Brighton, the compliments have been flying in — with many people praising the decor, atmosphere, service and quality food and drink. The burgers, in particular, have been a bit hit — with some saying they are the best they’ve ever had.
Richard said: “We’re all about a fun, relaxed dining experience — somewhere you can come and hang out whilst enjoying dirty, messy comfort food and fresh cocktails. Once we’ve settled we’ll be opening later and putting on live music too — we’re really excited to be adding to the area’s buzzing and vibrant scene.”
The Good Hood has opened on Victoria Road in The Victoria Quarter street art district — taking the place of the old Habibi restaurant. The New York graffiti style venue offers mouth-watering American comfort food, such as fried chicken, burgers and pizza, and cool cocktails.
